Sorry no course at Real Seeds this year

Learn how to: hand pollinate squash; process tomato seed;
breed the best carrots; build an isolation cage; and much more!

A course for anyone who is interested in seedsaving, or who wants to improve their seedsaving abilities, while spending a weekend in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.

The course will be run by Kate McEvoy and Ben Gabel of the Real Seed Catalogue.

The course will cover:-

  • the basic principles of seedsaving; how and why to choose the particular plants to save seed from

  • isolation, selection, and population size; when it matters and what to do to get the best seed

  • how to harvest and process seed; tricks of the trade using common household utensils.

Most of the sessions will involve practical, hands on activities in the Real Seed Catalogues seed and trial gardens.

Why save seed?

  • Better, tastier vegetables, perfectly suited to your own garden and soil

  • Better seed than any you can buy - for free

  • Keep your favourite varieties alive, as the catalogues shift to hybrids

Cost of the course including all meals:

£110 per person including dormitory accommodation (£85 un/low waged),
£95 per person camping (£75 un/low waged).

Climate Change Action: £10 discount for anyone travelling by public transport or bike

The Real Seed Catalogue is produced by The Real Seed Collection Ltd , a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.
~ Company No 5924934 ~ VAT No 841181938 ~ DEFRA registered Seed Provider No 7289 ~

Our Unique Guarantee:
We think these are the best seeds you can sow.
We will immediately refund or replace if you are in any way less than delighted with them, even including the flavour of the resulting crop!

Due to daft seed laws, rare veg seeds can only be supplied to members of our Seed Club. Membership costs one penny per annum. When we process your order, you will be charged for
a year's Seed Club Membership if yours is not up to date. For more details see our terms and conditions.

Gardeners Should Save their Own Seed:
Because none of these seeds are hybrids,
you can save your own seed for future use: there's no need to buy new each year.

Saving your own is easy. You will get great seed, and great vegetables adapted to your local conditions.
Do have a go - read the seedsaving instructions we provide with every packet, and also on this site.
